Care home residents dancing, singing and crafting their way to happiness with new Mariposa Care Group partnership

Mariposa Care Group is partnering with award-winning social enterprise Oomph! to engage residents and staff in a holistic world of wellbeing.

Mariposa Care Group Ltd comprises of 8 older adult care homes and 2 specialist mental health care homes based in the UK. Dedicated to their core values, which are to be generous, responsible and sustainable – Mariposa Care Group provides outstanding, person-centred care for individuals with additional health and care needs. At Mariposa Care Group, “care is at the heart of everything [they] do” – each resident is treated with dignity and respect; with a personalised care and support plan in place which has been built for them, with their wishes, best interests and those of their families at the core.

The 10 homes will have access to expert-led training, as well as Oomph! On Demand, which is Oomph!’s new digital platform. The platform provides engaging exercise and activity content 365 days a year, across a diverse range of topics and meeting a range of interests and abilities.

To drive physical activity, the home teams will be trained in Oomph!’s Exercise Leadership course. This will ensure that they are equipped with everything they need to deliver safe, varied and most importantly, fun, exercise sessions that residents love.

To compliment the training, homes will have access to Oomph! On Demand, which will enable residents to tune into live and recorded exercise sessions, including ballet, salsa and Bollywood dancing. They will also be able to enjoy a wide variety of activity resources, from virtual tours of Scotland, to language lessons, history talks to music concerts from their armchairs.

The site boasts interactive quizzes, activity ideas, an interactive activity calendar and much more. Care home staff and residents will be able to select activities according to their desired wellbeing goal or personal interests.
